I'm halfway done with my clincal hours.  I've been doing one 12 hour shift a week.  I am also going to do some hours in the ER tomorrow so I can practice my IV skills.

Nikolas has started speech therapy.  He goes to the school twice a week for 30 min sessions. 

We are planning on going to San Diego during spring break.  We'll be going to Legoland and Sea World.

Nikolas had his 3 year well check this morning.  He is growing great!  He is 37.5" tall and weighs 28 lbs.  This is the 50% for height and 25% for weight.  When she looked in his ears she couldn't see his ear tubes.  It looks like the tubes finally came out. 

Nikolas' IEP is scheduled for next Monday, so I'll find out more about his speech therapy.  I'm thinking of putting him in some kind of preschool soon, so I need to know when he'll be getting his therapy before I look at schools.

Things have been busy here. 

Kacey has an ear infection.  I took her into the pediatrician on Tuesday, and it's still bothering her some.  Hopefully the antibiotics will start working soon, and she'll feel better.

I worked again yesterday.  I had a good day.  I am still shadowing my preceptor.  I hope to take one patient by myself on my next day which is Saturday.

Nikolas will be getting speech therapy soon.  He had a speech evaluation through our school district this week.  We are not sure yet how he'll be getting the therapy.  I hope to hear more from our school within a week.  His birthday is coming up next weekend.  He will be turning three!

Kacey had to miss a couple of days of school last week because she had a fever.  Luckily her fever only lasted 24 hours or so, and no one else in the family got sick.

It was really rainy on Friday.  This is what happened to the wall in our backyard.  Some guy lost control of his truck and drove through our back wall.  Luckily no one was hurt.  It was right near our playground, but it wasn't damaged at all.  The wall is now boarded up.  I don't know when it will be fixed.

I started my clinical on Saturday.  I forgot how tiring working 12 hour shifts is.  I got home and just could barely do anything except lay down.  I also took a nap yesterday.  I like the pediatric unit I'm working on.  Everyone is really nice, including my preceptor.  It sounds like I'll probably be able to work there after my clinical hours are done.  My next clincal day is Wednesday.
